As we enter the growing season, be sure to buy only organically-grown fruits and vegetables that fall into the "Dirty Dozen." According to the Environmental Working Group (http://www.foodnews.org), you can lower your pesticide consumption by nearly four-fifths by avoiding these 12 most contaminated fruits and vegetables.

    Celery
    Peaches
    Strawberries
    Apples
    Domestic blueberries
    Nectarines
    Sweet bell peppers
    Spinach, kale and collard greens
    Cherries
    Potatoes
    Imported grapes
    Lettuce

I agree that it is very important to limit our intake of chemical pesticides.

Kale has some of the highest antioxidents available and there are many creative ways to incorporate it into your diet but you should only buy organic kale or learn to grow it yourself.
